Our chief engineer started as a facilities specialist and worked the periodic maintenance team (PMT) and facilities maintenance team (FMT) sections as a technician before continuing on to become a master instructor and Q/A evaluator. Johnson Controls pneumatic controls system maintainer. Olympic Arena "Best of the Best" trophy in 1993 for ICBM maintenance in the Missile Combat Competition (our record remains unbroken) in which our VP Gary McKay was also involved. Finished his military service in Technical Engineering school and with a college degree.
Service related tasks with a highly professional associate from the Tampa area Branch Office of Johnson Controls. This long term contract had several Johnson Controls system types, ranging from a central 85/40 Front-End, C210 and C500 series controllers, and several DSC-8500 field panels, to the more modern first-generation Metasys.
Retrofits, expansions, and new construction activities were done at all of the hospitals above on the hospital Johnson Controls DDC systems
(install/software & programming/commissioning).
Annual Fire alarm testing, inspection, and certification activities on an existing Notifier system were performed at these facilities.
Our chief engineer wrote software & programming and commissioned a new Patient Tower expansion and Chiller Plant upgrade for this Site, using Johnson Controls DX9100's, and Metasys AHU controllers.
During an 8-year period, the chief engineer at our company was the only person allowed to perform any DDC activities for this hospital network (in central Florida). During this time, retrofits, new expansions, and additions were done which tripled the size of the Johnson Controls device network at all of the Hospital Campus locations. Design, software & programming, installation, and service was performed. We were involved in the installation and commissioning of the "2nd Largest" Cooling Tower project in the State of Florida, at the South Campus. The service area spanned 80 miles between the 9 Campuses covered:
* In 1996, Ross created a semi-automatic client billing scheme, using Metasys, MS Visual Basic, and a DDE Server to get data from 54 client doctors' offices and format them into an electric utility cost invoice. The system was designed to act automatically and save the invoices, but could also be toggled manually, and perform everything with only 3 mouse clicks (get data, save-as, print all, & reset new).
In addition to the construction activities at the 9 campus locations above, all product service work was accomplished during the 8-year period as well. Ross Reed secured over $3M in additional work due to being a company "sole source," selected by the client exclusively.
This large warehousing and administrative facility received the first Johnson Controls Metasys system in the State of Florida, in 1989. We were involved in controller upgrades (software & programming, commissioning) and Companion System mapping for this Site.
Performed new installation, programming, and startup of new and existing Johnson Controls DDC system ASC devices, of an expansion project at the East Campus, and modified existing system programming for improved control of the West Campus.
New Science Building addition, including Labrotory Fume Hood controls and precise airflow VAV supply and exhaust DDC systems. The existing Campus Johnson Controls DDC system was extended into the new area of work and tied-in to new devices.
Our chief engineer was involved in the design, installation, software & programming, and commissioning of the two facilities on the John Young Parkway in Orlando.
Data Center 1 was a Chiller Plant DDC and Cooling Tower upgrade (utilizing Johnson Controls DX9100's and a Metasys Front-End), and we improved the communication "round-robin" for 60 Airflow CRAC Units from 5+ Minutes to less than 30-Seconds (in separate work) before project completion. Data Center 2 work involved the addition of a new Johnson Controls AHU DDC controller in a critical stand-by battery area.
Work that we performed at the POP Building involved the first ever implementation of a Johnson Controls "Duty-Standby" NCM (Ross did all of the NCM software & programming), along with other new DDC controllers at an unmanned Site, for this very demanding client. Our chief engineer worked along side a person recognized as the best DX9100 engineer on the US East Coast during the course of this work at the POP Building.
A new Park-Wide Fire Alarm system was designed and installed at this brand-new theme park. Our company President programmed and certified the "Dualling Dragons" and "The Hulk" American Notifier fire alarm systems for occupancy with the State Fire Marshall.
A new Johnson Controls DDC system was installed, programmed, and commissioned for the Delta Launch Complex Operations Building.
A new area High School and new area Middle School near Miami Florida. Installation, software & programming, and commissioning of new school Johnson Controls DDC systems.
An expansion with new Johnson Controls DDC controls was designed, installed, programmed and commissioned for this university.
Work at the Orange County Sheriffs Office, on a unique German-made Chiller that utilized a water cooled condenser (nothing out of the ordinary here), but used a liquid refrigerant pumping system to a rooftop AHU 300 feet away (and 60 feet up) from the chiller plant. This site used Johnson Controls LON DX9120's for DDC control, along with several first-gen Metasys VAV controllers in the administrative area.
A DDC systems checkout and sectional repair was performed after a fire. New communications trunks, remote access configuration, and selected devices were installed, software written & programmed, and commissioned. Facility Explorer and a remote M3 workstation, accessing an N30 were used.
A large annex building, retrofit with new mechanical equipment and chillers was designed, installed, software written & programmed with Johnson Controls Facility Explorer and N30 systems.
A systems retrofit stand-alone Johnson Controls DX9100 which controlled an AHU and hot water Boiler.
Retrofit mechanical equipment and a new Johnson Controls DDC system was designed, installed, software written & programmed, and commissioned for the following FAA facilities:
All of the buildings were connected for system-wide communications and control of the building environment and mechanical systems. Ross designed the mechanical and DDC systems, and used a NAE-4510-2 (NCM mode) for Systems integration and used a Metasys Integrator for control of several Liebert DS units in the Data Center (and a Sitelink-12).
Our chief engineer was involved in a systems retrofit of the DDC system, using Schneider Electric Automation Servers and Continuum field devices. Programming and startup was performed while contracted with a major personnel company.
Partial building mechanical systems retrofit and new DDC system, first floor. Two new Rooftop AHUs and several Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes were connected to a new Johnson Controls FX60E. Design, software & programming, and startup assistance.
Contracted to perform work on the 60,000 Square Foot Data Floor support equipment for this Site, on the Johnson Controls Metasys Extended Architecture. Global World-Wide Lead for the Nlyte Energy Optimizer system, responsible for logistics, software programming and technical support of the real-time monitoring for over 65 Sites world-wide.
